Program Manager - Mobile Response Team - South | 12.2018

Salary: $65,000 | Exempt 

Position Summary:

This is an independent professional position providing the ongoing development, training and supervision of the Mobile Response Team and the coordination of professional relationships with law enforcement, school board, hospitals and various outside agencies.  Duties include responding directly to requests for deployment and assures people in crisis receive immediate and ongoing assistance.  Work is performed under the direction of a higher level supervisor and is reviewed through conferences, reports and observation of the results obtained.


Minimum Qualifications:

Licensure in mental health, social work marriage and family counseling or any related mental health field is required.  Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and driving record in accordance with Meridian and Risk Management standards.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Receives and responds to calls from the Mobile Response Team, coordinates activities of others to assure response within one hour or less.

2. Responds to crisis situations, conducts risk assessments, and completes safety planning with individuals in crisis.

3. Develop safety standards for mobile response team including memorandums of understanding with all law enforcement agencies, the school board, and other participating agencies.

4. Assures the warm handoff of clients to appropriate agencies or services in the community including transportation, assisting with completing consent to treatment, release of information, and attendance at initial sessions.

5. Provides supervision and clinical training

6. Meets with staff through individual and group meetings in analyzing case management problems and in improving their diagnostic and clinical counseling skills.

7. Ensures the proper tracking of data and statistical information related to the mobile response program.

8. Provides clinical therapy and counseling to individuals, couples and families.

9. Provides after-hours on-call supervision and response.

10. Provides counseling services telephonically, through telehealth and face-to-face

11. Informs community organizations of the mobile response team services available.

12. Collaborates with local agencies including law enforcement and the schools to develop and implement community-wide strategies related to on scene response.

13. Coordinates and assists with implementation of program policies and procedures.

14. Participates in a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training with law enforcement

15. Comply with Meridian's policies and procedures.

16. Complete electronic documentation in a timely manner.

17. Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and objectives.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations relating to the operation of community crisis intervention programs. Considerable knowledge of current techniques, principles and practices of crisis intervention and suicide prevention programs. Skill in the use of personal computers including word processing programs. Ability to work with and counsel suicidal/distraught clients. Ability to function in a team setting. Ability to train, supervise and evaluate staff. Ability to react calmly and quickly in emergency situations. Ability to coordinate and supervise staff in emergency situations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to make public presentations before community organizations about the program. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with assisting agencies, other County departments, employees and the general public.
