About the Role

As the Admission Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational excellence and strategic direction of Meridian. You will:

  • Maintain an up-to-date accurate waitlist processing potential clients in accordance with contractual and center procedures.
  • Provide pre-admission medical documentation to the doctor for review and approval.
  • Admit clients in the EMR and assign primary counselor, program, and diagnosis.
  • Manage the admission flow including scheduling of incoming clients, bed/room assignments, payor, fee collection and initial documentation.
  • Complete reports including Daily Census, Day to Day report, Admit/Discharge, Monthly Census, YTD Bed Day by Payor and other reports assigned.
  • Coordinate and take minutes for Weekly Treatment Team Meeting.
  • Assists the treatment team in providing direct client care. Aids in ensuring an orderly, safe and therapeutic milieu by maintaining a therapeutic relationship with people always served and treats them with dignity and respect.
  • Supervises clients to help maintain a safe and clean environment and sets standards for milieu monitoring through the performance of these tasks.
  • Provides psycho-educational groups to clients.
  • Observes, reports and documents client interaction among peers, staff and the community as it relates to clients' individual treatment goals.
  • Assists the client with the implementation and completion of treatment work.
  • Enforces therapeutic interventions as instructed by clinical staff.
  • Assists in the facilitation of substance abuse education and other psycho-educational groups.
  • Administers random and scheduled Breathalyzer and urinalysis tests, completes and submits appropriate forms.
  • Monitors and records client self-administration of approved medications.
  • Maintains familiarity and compliance with Meridian program policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current First Aid, CPR and other professional training as required by contract with the State and other accrediting bodies.


What We're Looking For

  • High School diploma or GED and two years of experience in working in a substance abuse, or mental health field. 
  • College education in mental health, counseling, social work or other human service field may be substituted for experience.
