About the Role

Meridian's growing Community Action Team is seeking a committed CAT Mentor to provide direct support, skills coaching, mentoring, and advocacy to youth enrolled in CAT services. The Mentor plays a critical role in modeling positive behavior, supporting treatment goals, and ensuring youth have the tools needed to thrive in home, school, and community environments.

This position works across all areas where Meridian provides services, with a primary focus on Alachua County and adjacent counties, including border areas near Columbia and the Tri-County region. A team vehicle will be provided to support community-based work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mentoring, support, life skills coaching, and community integration activities for youth ages 11-21.
  • Support treatment goals established by the clinician and team.
  • Assist youth in developing coping skills, problem-solving abilities, and healthy relationships.
  • Support families by modeling communication, structure, and positive engagement.
  • Transport youth safely to appointments, community activities, and services as needed.
  • Document services and maintain communication with the team to coordinate care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children or adolescents in a behavioral health, social services, mentoring, or community-support role.
  • Ability to build rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Valid Florida driver's license; willingness to travel throughout multiple counties.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
