Clinical Responsibilities:
1. Conducts group, individual, and family therapy on the unit when needed.
2. Ensures that necessary safety precautions are taken based on the client's condition and facility policy.
3. Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation/review of the treatment plan based on the medical needs identified in the screening assessment.
4. Provides effective, accurate, and concurrent documentation.
5. Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and objectives.
6. Willing to be an active participant in client restraints, as needed.
7. Assists and completes discharge summaries, as well as other functions of discharge planning.
8. Conducts brief face-to-face evaluations of VOL screening clients as needed.
9. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Administrative Responsibilities:
1. Supervises staff to include unit counseling, discharge planning, recreational therapy and peer specialist services. Ensures staff is receiving initial and ongoing training as required by the Center and the Unit. Orients, conducts performance reviews, and makes recommendations regarding any disciplinary action required.
2. Responsible for creating, monitoring and modifying the inpatient staff schedule. Covers shifts when needed.
3. Participates in Administrator-on-call rotation and coordinates with Acute Care management team on urgent tasks and communications needing to be fulfilled in Director's absence. Also participates in TEAM Training rotation for NEO training.
4. Assists with monitoring timely authorizations, Daily Dashboard review, and coordinates inconsistencies with UR/UM staff.
5. Completes and provides notification of Baker Act release to appropriate parties. Monitors Marchman Acts to provide notification of discharge to the courts. Uploads documentation into the court portals.
6. Monitors hospital referral protocols and assists with documentation, compliance audits, service errors, AI report analysis, and corrections.
7. Attends treatment team meetings in both Detox and CSU. Assigns responsibilities to staff as needed.
8. Conducts monthly team meetings to ensure that all employees have congruent information related to agency and job functions.
9. Completes monthly peer review audits for all staff.
10. Responsible for interviewing, hiring and retaining all inpatient staff.
11. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Who are we looking for? (Minimum Qualifications)
Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology or related field from an accredited college or university. Florida Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy required.
Experience with direct patient care and at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a related field required. Experience in inpatient psychiatric unit/hospital and a working knowledge of the Florida Mental Health Act ("Baker Act") strongly preferred.
