About the Role

This advanced clinical role involves conducting emergency mental health assessments for individuals presenting in crisis at the Crisis Stabilization Unit. The Emergency Screener provides comprehensive intake and evaluation services on a 24/7 basis for both voluntary and involuntary (Baker Act) adults and children.

The incumbent is responsible for determining the appropriate level of care, facilitating timely interventions, and coordinating with internal and external resources to ensure effective stabilization and continuity of care.

You will:

  • Conducts client assessments via telephone and face-to-face interactions to determine appropriate treatment needs.
  • Identifies suitable service providers based on clinical presentation, demographic factors, and payer requirements.
  • Serves as an advocate and liaison for clients and the center, collaborating with a wide range of community agencies to ensure continuity of care.
  • Facilitates seamless service transitions within the agency and across community resources for clients engaged in Emergency Screening.
  • Accurately documents all services provided in a timely manner, adhering to Center guidelines, procedures, and professional best practices.
  • Maintains documentation for billing, payroll, and reimbursement in compliance with Center standards and procedural requirements.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support the achievement of programmatic and departmental goals.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university required
  • Major coursework must be in psychology, sociology, social work, or a related human services field
  • Minimum of one year of demonstrated experience working with clients in the mental health field

Drivers Requirement:

Must have a current Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record while meeting company insurance requirements.

In order to qualify as a Center Driver, the candidate must at least be 21 years of age and have an active Florida Driver's license. Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed for eligibility. No more than 3 moving violations and/or accidents within the past 3 years and no major violations during the past 5 years.
