Counselor III - Access Center #31576

1.  Assists the treatment team in providing direct client care.  Aids in insuring an orderly, safe and therapeutic milieu by maintaining a therapeutic relationship with clients and treating clients with dignity and respect at all times.

2.  Assists clients in the development and implementation of individual service and treatment plans addressing mental health and/or addiction problems. .

3.  Provides crisis intervention services for clients as needed.

4.  Helps to ensure the collection of data to ensure pertinent information is accurate regarding admissions, discharges, primary therapist assignments, discharge dates, Medicaid or other 3rd party payer status, etc., for staff.

5.  Perform clinical assessments to assist in developing treatment plans and/or make recommendations to other agencies about these issues, under the supervision of Program Director or senior staff.

6.  Provide consultation services to staff from other agencies also working with the client

7.  Facilitates continuity of care within the agency and community for assigned clients.

8.  Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and

objectives.

9.  Traveling to all 9 clinic locations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in related field, e.g. social work, counseling, psychology.  Must be able to type at least 27 words a minute and pass Outlook and Windows proficiency levels.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Specific competencies required are identified on a department/program specific basis.  The following are general and apply to all positions with this title.

LANAGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
