About the Role
This is a professional supervisory position responsible for providing supervision and oversight over emergency screening of the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) for Gainesville or Lake City which provides the first contact for people in crisis seeking mental health, and/or addictions treatment. In addition, the Director gives input and maintains compliance with policies and procedures pertaining to emergency screening and crisis management. This position will be responsible for coordinating with other Access and Admissions leadership to support a "No Wrong Door" philosophy of care. Clinical, crisis intervention, customer service, and supervisory skills as well as the ability to multi-task are essential requirements of this position to successfully direct the team that provides services to clients through Emergency Screening. Direct reports of the Director include master's level Emergency Screeners and bachelor's (or equivalent) level Emergency Screening Coordinators. This position is participating in the Administrator On-Call rotation (AOC).

What we're looking for

  • Master's degree in social work, mental health or related counseling master's degree required.
  • Current Florida LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist required.
  • Experience with direct patient care and at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a related field required. Experience in inpatient psychiatric unit / hospital and working knowledge of the Florida Mental Health Act ("Baker Act") strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  •  Conducts screenings of potential clients during scheduled shifts, serving as primary back up to direct care during times of high volume and open shifts.
  • · Ensures that necessary safety precautions are taken based on the client's condition and facility policy.
  • · Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the treatment plan based on the medical needs identified in the screening assessment. Signs off on treatment plans for assigned staff.
  • · Provides effective, accurate, and concurrent documentation.
  • · Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and objectives.
  • · Willing to be an active participant in client restraints, as needed
  • · Assists and completes discharge plans for clients not admitted to CSU, as well as other functions of discharge planning.
