About the Role

As the Emergency Services Manager you will be responsible for the supervision and strategic oversight of emergency screening operations within the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), serving as the initial point of contact for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises. The Director ensures that all emergency screening activities are conducted in alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, crisis intervention, and customer service.

You Will:

  • Provide direct supervision to a multidisciplinary team, including master's-level Emergency Screeners and bachelor's-level (or equivalent) Emergency Screening Coordinators.
  • Maintain compliance with protocols related to emergency screening and crisis management.
  • Collaborate with Access and Admissions leadership to uphold a "No Wrong Door" philosophy, ensuring seamless and inclusive access to care.
  • Support the development and implementation of best practices in crisis response and emergency screening.
  • Participate in the Administrator On-Call (AOC) rotation to provide after-hours leadership and support.
  • Success in this role requires strong clinical judgment, crisis management expertise, supervisory experience, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conducts screenings of potential clients during scheduled shifts, serving as primary back up to direct care during times of high volume and open shifts.
  • Ensures that necessary safety precautions are taken based on the client's condition and facility policy.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the treatment plan based on the medical needs identified in the screening assessment.
  • Signs off on treatment plans for assigned staff.
  • Provides effective, accurate, and concurrent documentation.
  • Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Willing to be an active participant in client restraints, as needed
  • Assists and completes discharge plans for clients not admitted to CSU, as well as other functions of discharge planning.

            What We're Looking For

            • Master's degree in social work, mental health or related counseling master's degree required.
            • Current Florida LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist required.
            • Experience with direct patient care and at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a related field required. Experience in inpatient psychiatric unit / hospital and working knowledge of the Florida Mental Health Act ("Baker Act") strongly preferred.
            • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
