  • Coordinate and schedule department events and staff service locations.
  • Provide administrative functions, as well as managing correspondence and activities among the Prevention Department and with other community leaders and stakeholders.
  • Monitor staff service delivery and recording of services as required by state regulations, funding sources and grant requirements, and internal agency requirements to ensure Prevention deliverables are being met. Assist and coach staff to meet outcomes and goals as well as financial goals of the program.
  • Communicate and report issues with concurrency, productivity, or any other staff issues to supervisor when identified and work with supervisor to develop and implement corrective action.
  • Create, maintain, and update databases and spreadsheet files and/or information used to track information and data in the Department.
  • Coordinate, maintain, and update Departmental Procedure Manuals, as well as Quality Improvement procedures in the Department, assisting the VP, when necessary.
  • Maintain a positive, proactive customer service approach through cooperation and communication within the department and other departments/programs within the organization.
  • Develop working relationships with local prevention coalitions and community groups, and coordinate Meridian participation in relevant special events and community meetings as needed. This may require evenings and weekend hours.
  • Exhibit the skill set to be trained in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) as a certified instructor to provide community-based training each month (between 1 to 4 training courses).
  • Complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, and other various reports from program data for each of the Prevention Grants and funding sources. The Director is responsible for ensuring that data is collected and reported per grant or contract requirements.
  • Protects department and agency resources, including worktime. Ensures that staff travel, training, and supplies are charged to the department only when appropriate and in a manner that makes the most effective use of limited resources.
  • Respond promptly to calls, texts, and emails to ensure all involved (staff, supervisor, internal/external agencies) are kept up to date.
  • Assist the Vice President with program development. This includes participation in grant development for new sources of funding and identifying best practices to enhance and expand prevention services.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with managing entities and the Department of Children and Family as well as other relevant agencies.
  • Seek opportunities from private and public entities regarding provision of Prevention and prevention related activities.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Maintain awareness and use of appropriate discretion at all times.

Who are we looking for?

Bachelor's degree in psychology or social work or related human service field with at least 2 years of progressively responsible administrative and management experience. Prefer a master's degree with at least 3 years of prevention experience. Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) credential through The Florida Certification Board is a plus.
