About the Role
As a Quality Improvement (QI) Specialist - Internal Auditor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational excellence and strategic direction of Meridian. You will:
- Conducts internal audits of clinical and medical documentation to ensure it adequately supports the provider service billed, in accordance with the appropriate third-party regulations and/or standards.
- Conducts audits on other compliance-related topics to evaluate adherence to state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
- Prepares written reports of the results of the audits, including recommendations for improvement to be reviewed by the executive management team.
- Presents audit reports and audit findings to program leadership.
- Prepares and issues Corrective Action Plans to programs as needed based on audit findings.
- Serves on Quality Improvement Committees as assigned.
- Develops documents and assists in implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with third-party requirements and to minimize corporate risk.
- Participates in developing and maintaining compliance audit standards.
- Works on joint projects with other staff and departments to resolve billing and documentation issues and acts as an expert on compliance-related topics.
- Works with HR Training & Development to ensure compliance and other audit issues identified are included in future training and education programs.
- Coordinates and oversees preparation for external audits.
- Maintains a working relationship with external auditors.
- Facilitates coordination and preparation of summary report for internal surveys.
- Assists with licensure applications.
- Assists with credentialing applications.
- Manages and tracks peer reviews.
- Demonstrates high standards of conduct and ethics as well as appropriate judgment, independence and discretion.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred, Associate's Degree or graduation from a standard high school or its equivalent and two years of general office or clerical experience, which included collection, tracking and reporting of data/information, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
