About the Role
As the Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational excellence and strategic direction of Meridian. You will:
- Meet and greet all applicants in a friendly customer service approach upon arrival to their appointments, interviews, testing, etc.
- Schedules backgrounds and coordinates applicant skills assessments, assists with interview schedule when needed. Monitors Jobs Calendar to prevent over-scheduling.
- Set up applicants with applicable testing, assessments and paperwork; explaining in detail the testing and paperwork process. Escort applicants to interviews.
- Monitors internship applications and routes to appropriate program for review. Coordinate and track internship onboarding and exit. Monitor, tracks and maintains active PRN agreements for regular exempt staff and Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PLSF)
- Works with the recruiters to ensure all required and hiring documents for applicants are collected and assists with scanning new hire documents needed for New Hire Orientation. Assist with organization and close-out of job files.
- Responsible for recruiting several entry level positions such as dietary, maintenance and custodial, others, as needed.
- Initiates applicant background screening and drug screens and checks eligibility on a daily basis.
- Completes employment reference checks for PRN applicants who would report into Centralized Scheduling.
- Initiates and tracks department work-orders, credit card reconciliation, supply ordering/organization including printer cartridges, paper and other office supplies.
- Maintains position, proactive customer service approach through cooperation and communication within the Recruiting/Staffing department and other departments/programs within Meridian, as well as applicants and other stakeholders. Works proactively with recruiters and applicants keeping them abreast of pending items pending for on-boarding.
- Cross-train with Staffing and Main HR to serve as backup for lunch coverage, ad-hoc projects, as needed and other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- 2 Years of HR or recruiting setting strongly preferred; administrative, secretarial or clerical experience, dealing with the public may substitute for preferred experience.
- Excellent communication skills, multi-tasking ability and a strong positive customer service attitude is crucial. Attention to detail a must.
- Proficiency in software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; PowerPoint is strongly preferred. AA or higher preferred. High school or GED required.
