WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an IT Technician, you'll serve as Tier 1 technical support for Meridian employees and help maintain the technology that supports our day-to-day operations.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Provide on-site and remote support for computers, laptops, printers, phones, tablets, mobile devices, software, and other technology.
- Respond to support tickets, calls, and emails promptly while providing friendly and professional customer service.
- Install, configure, update, troubleshoot, and maintain workstations, phone systems, software, and related equipment.
- Diagnose hardware and software issues and work toward timely solutions that minimize employee downtime.
- Complete weekly branch runs and provide technical support across Meridian locations.
- Assist with routine and emergency IT maintenance.
- Maintain structured cabling, cable management, equipment, and IT-related inventory.
- Maintain accurate support tickets, service logs, incident records, and IT asset documentation.
- Coordinate with hardware and software vendors on upgrades, testing, repairs, and technology implementations.
- Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, standard operating procedures, and user-friendly resources.
- Provide basic technology training and assistance to Meridian employees.
- Support colleagues and assist with the onboarding and training of new team members.
- Follow HIPAA requirements, data security practices, organizational policies, and applicable audit requirements.
- Participate in after-hours and on-call support as required based on department schedules.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Relevant technical certifications may substitute where applicable.
- 2-4 years of hands-on IT support experience in helpdesk, field technician, desktop support, or a similar technical support role.
- Experience providing both on-site and remote troubleshooting, preferably in a multi-site environment.
- Previous experience supporting healthcare or another regulated environment is preferred.
Certifications:
- CompTIA A+ required within the first year of employment if not already obtained.
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+ preferred.
- Microsoft-related certification preferred.
- Additional certifications that support the responsibilities of the position are encouraged.
YOUR TECHNICAL TOOLKIT
You'll be successful in this role if you have experience with or working knowledge of:
- Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
- Basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
- PC, laptop, printer, and mobile device troubleshooting
- VoIP and telephony systems
- IT ticketing systems such as Freshservice, ServiceNow, Zendesk, or similar platforms
- Endpoint management and remote-support tools
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining workstations, peripherals, and basic IT infrastructure
- Basic structured cabling
You'll also bring:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- The ability to prioritize multiple technical issues effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Accurate documentation and follow-through
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a team
- A willingness to learn new technologies and continue developing your technical skills
TRAVEL & AVAILABILITY
Because this position provides support across multiple Meridian locations:
- A current Florida driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
- You must be able to travel between Meridian locations for branch runs and other IT support needs.
- Center Driver eligibility requires candidates to be at least 21 years old with an active Florida driver's license.
- Motor Vehicle Record eligibility requirements apply.
- After-hours and on-call availability is required based on the department's established schedule.
