Counselor III -Rehab Svcs | Lake City | # 22611 | 8.21

Location: Lake City
Rate of Pay: $15.26/hour

This is a professional counseling position providing direct and indirect customer care through the Meridian Rehabilitation Services program.  The Counselor III should have a passion for working with individuals and groups having the ability to build professional, empathic and caring relationships with clients.  In addition, the must be able to provided effective, efficient and appropriate direct clinical services to promote recovery and assist client's success in the community. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

1.  Assists the treatment team in providing direct client care.  Aids in insuring an orderly, safe and therapeutic milieu by maintaining a therapeutic relationship with clients and treating clients with dignity and respect at all times.

2.  Assists clients in the development and implementation of individual treatment plans addressing mental health and/or addiction problems.

3.  Provides services via individual, group, family, or psychosocial/psycho education classes, that are intended to restore a recipient's skills and abilities essential for independent living, and are focused on the goals and objectives developed in the treatment plans. 

4.  Provides crisis intervention services for clients as needed.

5.  Helps to ensure the collection of data to ensure pertinent information is accurate regarding admissions, discharges, primary counselor assignments, discharge dates, Medicaid or other 3rd party payor status, etc., for staff.

6.  Perform clinical assessments to assist in developing treatment plans and/or make recommendations to other agencies about these issues, under the supervision of Program Director or senior staff.

7.  Provide consultation services to staff from other agencies, also working with the client.

8.  Facilitates continuity of care within the agency and community for assigned clients.

9.  Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and objectives.
