$11.00/hr  *This is a PRN position, 12 hours/week.

This clerical PRN position is responsible for providing support to the functional areas of the Human Resources Department, which include HR operations and may include payroll/benefits; staffing, training. Other duties include updating personnel records and providing customer service to employees and external customers of the organization. This is a temporary PRN position that is scheduled on an as-needed basis.  The work requires use of independent judgment and initiative in carrying out day-to-day duties and responsibilities and is performed under the direct supervision of the Sr. HR Generalist position.


Minimum Qualifications:

·  High School diploma or equivalent required.

·  Ability to type 25 adjusted wpm

·  Achieve passing scores in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Windows XP, Microsoft Outlook (70%) 


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of documents within hardcopy personnel files for scanning and digitally uploading to the electronic HRIS database.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of HR Department filing which include employment, medical, and training documents.
  • Maintaining and archiving record retention and destruction may include retrieving and delivering records to/from offsite records storage facilities.
  • Provide coverage for HR front desk and administration front desk as needed, this includes telephone coverage and assisting employees and external customers. 
  • Maintain a positive, proactive customer service approach.
  • Perform other duties as requested or as assigned by supervisor or the Director of Human Resources.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to type at the rate of 25 correct words per minute and experience in using a variety of software programs in order to maintain and update personnel records and prepare correspondence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including a moderate to advanced proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and write at a level sufficient to prepare and comprehend correspondence.
  • Possess above average communication skills in order to effectively interpret policies and procedures and assist staff and applicants with requests.

·  Ability to respond to instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Ability to work under immediate supervision


Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
