Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in education, psychology or social work, human services, or related field.  Preference is to have at least 2 years of experience working with youth in a school or community setting and at least one year working with the substance abuse population.

Drivers Requirement:
Must have a current Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record while meeting company insurance requirements.
In order to qualify as a Center Driver, the candidate must at least 21 years of age and have an active Florida Driver's license.  Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed for eligibility.  No more than 3 moving violations and/or accidents within the past 3 years and no major violations during the past 5 years. Drivers over 65 years old must provide a current doctor's note stating they have no driving limitations. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Has adequate assessment/evaluation skills

  • Understands how to determine a substance abuse disorders
  • Can identify risk and protective factors
  • Can assess for prevention needs
  • Is aware of cultural issues that may impact client needs and service planning
  • Can identify signs and indicators of use and abuse
  • Can utilize the results from pre/post test surveys to determine client needs
  • Understands principles of Prevention 

Has adequate prevention skills

  • Can adequately teach from a curriculum
  • Has good presentation skills
  • Can provide appropriate services based on identified client needs
  • Understands how to effectively integrate parents/families in prevention activities
  • Can articulate community needs
  • Provides culturally competent care
  • Applies appropriate therapeutic interventions

Has adequate consultation skills

Has adequate documentation skills

  • Is proficient with computers
  • Can maintain service logs

Has adequate critical thinking abilities and can apply these abilities in performing duties.

Has adequate oral and written communication skills.
