Includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, financial forecasting, strategic planning, purchasing, budget planning, federal grant contracts, analysis and negotiations, and Board relationships.
Develops and oversees preparation of financial reports as required by the Board, CEO, regulatory and contracting agencies, policy/procedure, and Senior Management to facilitate management and oversight of the Center's finances.
Maintains and enhances relationships with major contractors/payers that facilitate negotiation of rates and contracts that supports our growth and positive impact on the community.
Coordinates the development and maintenance of the Center's annual budget.
Ensures the Accounting records are maintained in accordance with acceptable accounting principles and all applicable statutes, regulations, and contractual obligations.
Provides leadership in the budgeting process to ensure there are adequate resources to meet Meridian's operational and capital needs, growth, and strategic initiatives.
Ensures that there are sufficient internal controls in place to ensure the fiscal integrity of the organization. Supervises the maintenance of all Center Financial Reports, including the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Cash Receipts, etc.
Supervises and directs the payroll reporting process for the Center and ensures compliance with ERISA and related financial audit requirements for retirement plans.
Oversees the management of receivables by monitoring and reporting on collections and insurance billing.
Oversees the accounts payable system, ensuring proper payment and compliance with Center policy for purchasing, management of fixed assets, and record keeping.
Ensures that opportunities for efficiency, expansion, funding diversification are adequately explored, including participation in grant writing, and keeping abreast of changes in industry that represent opportunities to improve the Center's finances.
Manages the Finance and Accounting departments. Develops the department's staffing and work plan. Supervising duties include billing, training, evaluation, and discipline of staff.
Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and objectives.
Who are we looking for? (Minimum Qualifications)
Master's degree 8 years in financial management or bachelor's degree 10 years in financial management or related work. Degree must be in accounting or a closely related area. 5 years' minimum experience in healthcare, social services or closely related field. Experience CPA preferred, with large non-profit organization, grant accounting and federal contracts strongly preferred.
