Billing Analyst

Meridian Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Analyst to support billing workflows, ensure timely reimbursement, and improve overall revenue cycle performance. This role works closely with the Billing Director and provides guidance to Billing Specialists while independently managing key billing functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Submit inpatient and outpatient claims for processing
  • Analyze claims data to identify billing errors and contractual underpayments
  • Monitor claim rejections and resolve issues
  • Review reports to ensure billing accuracy and recommend improvements
  • Manage the monthly patient statement process
  • Support billing projects and assist Billing Specialists as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree (preferred) in Business or related field with clerical/billing experience
    OR
  • High school diploma/GED + 2 years of clinical and/or third-party billing experience

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of insurance claim cycle and accounts receivable
  • Experience with Commercial Insurance, Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, and Medicare
  • Understanding of billing requirements, contracts, and coding basics
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision
