This is a non-caseload caring professional position in which the candidate will work as part of a team of professionals providing substance abuse treatment to adolescent (13-17) males in a 6 month residential program. 


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.  1 year experience with youth or in a substance use setting strongly preferred.

Driver Requirement:

Must have a current Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record while meeting company insurance requirements

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

?  Facilitate and assist with Florida Virtual School Communication between clients and parents

?  Assist in planning and implementing  therapeutic recreational activities for clients in care

?  Assist the treatment team in providing direct and indirect client care.

?  Aids in ensuring an orderly, safe, and therapeutic milieu by maintaining a therapeutic relationship with clients and treating clients with dignity and respect at all times.

?  Provides therapeutic services via educational groups and monitoring of client journaling and treatment assignments.

?  Provides crisis intervention services for clients as needed.

?  Maintains familiarity and compliance with Meridian program policies and procedures.

?  Assists in the identification of solutions of identified programming problems and performs tasks related to program improvement.

?  Collects data to ensure pertinent information is accurate regarding admissions, discharges, room assignments, primary therapist assignment, etc.

?  Coordinates client care including scheduling of medical, dental, psychiatric appointments as necessary.

?  Transports/accompanies clients to appointments as needed.

?  Provides consultation services to other agencies working with the client.

?  Actively engages community referral sources to maintain a pending admissions list to meet the census requirements.

?  Monitors scheduled discharges in order to ensure timely admission of new clients.

?  Completes all required admission documentation.

?  Documents all services provided in a timely and accurate manner consistent with Center policy and procedures.

?  Models appropriate behavior, both in and out of the Center, for clients.

?  Assist with supervision and training of Recovery Specialist in procedures related to program

?  Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and objectives.
