Rate of Pay: $16.00/hr

Position Summary:

This is routine manual work consisting of extensive painting of all Meridian facilities.  This position also includes a variety of preventative maintenance and repair procedures.  Under general supervision, this position will perform a wide variety of painting duties in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment; and perform related work as required.  This position is reviewed through reports and observations and has potential exposure to blood and body fluids.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of the above. 

Driver Requirement:

Must have a current Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record while meeting company insurance requirements

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

General Duties:

1. Report to work based on departments schedule for employee.

2.  Performs interior and exterior painting as assigned.

3. Maintain inventory control of paint supplies, departmental tools and equipment.

4. Prepares all surfaces for painting by using any of the following methods: paint removers, scrapers, wire brushes, sanders, blow torches, sand blasting, etc.

5.  Fills holes, crevices and cracks and seals joints with putty, caulking and other filler.

6. Prepares and mixes paints and finishes as required.

7.  Applies paints, lacquers, stain, varnishes and finishes, etc. using brushes, rollers, spray equipment and applicators.

8. Provide center wide-customer service while maintaining a positive attitude.

9. Proactively identify problems and propose effective solutions by filling out work orders and informing supervisor.

10. Ensure all required safety standards are in accordance with CARF requirements.

11. Cleans work areas, equipment and tools.

12. Attends meetings as assigned.

13. Ensures all safety standards are followed.

14. Complete tasks with minimal follow up.

15. Adapt quickly to changing situations with a calm attitude.

16. Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals.
